Is it because the weather was so dry or humid?
What is the best way to avoid another accident like that when she goes to Arizona? My Mom went to Arizona and got a nosebleed?
It is really dry there. She could pick up a bottle of saline spray to use as a mositurizer for her nasal passages. It is harmless and inexpensive and sold at any drug store. My Mom went to Arizona and got a nosebleed?
She is getting a nosebleed because the vessels in her nose (an artery, actually) is close to the surface. Dry skin will crack in the nose (just like anywhere on your body) and this artery will burst.
The thing that I have found works the best (and an ENT doctor confirmed this) is to swab a light gel into your nose at least twice a day (morning and night). There is one called Ayr that works, but that is too light for me - it dries up too fast. I prefer something like Polysporin - just put some on a Q-Tip (TM) and swab it into each nostril. Haven't had a nosebleed in 2 years doing this.
(FYI, hotels are AWFUL for dry air. Run the shower for a while each night to humidify the room."My Mom went to Arizona and got a nosebleed?
Probably because the air is dry and it dried out her nasal lining, which caused a little blood vessel to break and gave her a nosebleed. Try a humidifier to keep the air moist.
