So when california breaks off will Arizona and the other states be effected?

I mean effected weather wise.

I mean california is on the ocean, so if it breaks off then the ocean would be near arizona right?

If so wouldnt it be much cooler here?So when california breaks off will Arizona and the other states be effected?
California will not break off from Arizona. The coastal area of California west of the major fault complex that runs from the Gulf of Baja California north to San Francisco is moving north relative to the rest of California and the North American plate.

That is, most of California will stay firmly attached to Arizona. There will be no surfing on the west side of Phoenix.
The neighbour states will be affected, of course. However, they will not break off. The weather will be the result of the global warming there, too.So when california breaks off will Arizona and the other states be effected?
Ca will not break off but slowly part of it is heading one way and part of it is heading another direction. What to worry about is the Juan de Fuca plate. One day the Pacific plate will jump over it (at geologic speed) and the small plate will be depressed and it will lower the land far into the US in that area. But if we keep abusing our planet, we won't have to worry about being around for that event. . .
As long as Hollywood goes glub, glub, glub. We can all be thankful. Unfortunately, it will not likely happen in our lifetime. So when california breaks off will Arizona and the other states be effected?
I'm looking forward to swimming in Arizona Bay :)
California will not break off of the U.S. mainland because it's it's a transforming plate meaning that the two plates slide together. If the plates were diverging meaning they go apart from each other then yes it would eventually but it won't. Other states would be effected because they would eventually be bordering the ocean. Arizona doesn't even border California, it's separated by Nevada. So Nevada would border the ocean but not Arizona.
If you want to know the answer to this, check out the weather in Puerto Penasco and the Mexican state of Sonora. What is happening is that as the plates move, the Gulf of California is propagating northward. The Imperial Valley and Salton Sink already are way below sea level and as rifting continues ocean water will eventually fill up that area. Note that Arizona still won't be near the Pacific so it won't be cool, it will just have increased humidities because it will lie near a very warm inland sea.

Of course, this will take millions of years.
