What is the weather like in Arizona in the Winter?

I am thinking about going to Arizona for a vacation since I have never been to a desert like area and I would love to see the Grand Canyon. The only time I can go is right after Christmas around New Year's. I have been looking at average temps and they say it is only like 65 degrees during the day. Is that true, because I really want to feel like I'm in the desert.

The weather isn't even that cold during the winter. I've lived in Texas too, so I think I would know. If you do go there, you'll really enjoy your time. It won't even be that hot.What is the weather like in Arizona in the Winter?
sounds about right!! i use to go to southern california a lot! the winters are 60's-70's just as long as you are gone by summer? death valley ca. isn't far from arizona they get 120's in the summer i would expect arizona would be hot too??What is the weather like in Arizona in the Winter?
There are only 2 types of weather throughout the year in the southern US (geographically: California to Florida): hot as hell and not quite as hot as hell. Winter would be the latter type in Arizona.
