Summer over 100. Winter under 100. Poor questions get poor answers. What's the weather generally like in Arizona?
What time of year?
right now.... hot and dry. What's the weather generally like in Arizona?
If you're in northern Arizona, you have your basic four seasons. The mountains bring in cold fronts and you have snow and rain.
If you're in southern Arizona, it's typically around 90 degrees with really dry heat.
It depends, what part of Arizona, and what time of year?
Northern Arizona gets all four seasons, and they actually got some snow about one week ago. It stays nice up north all year around. But, you do not want to go up off of the Rim during the monsoon season, trust me! You will experience nothing but a constant heavy downpour.
Central and Southern Arizona is hot and dry most of the year. Temps in summer reach well over 110. The temps in winter, usually get no lower than about 40 or 50 during the daytime. But, we are known to get overnight freezing. During the winter, we have been know to get some light snow, by light I mean only a couple of flurries. During the monsoon season, we sometimes get rain, and when we get rain, we GET rain!!!What's the weather generally like in Arizona?
Even southern Arizona in the winter can actually get quite chilly: overnight lows in the Tucson Metro area got down to 25F a couple times during this past December and January (people had to move their plants inside!). Daytime highs can be low to mid 60s, but even though it's sunny it feels cool because of the extremely low humidity. Winters can have spells of rather rainy weather. It's not as common as it used to be, though. It can snow in Tucson, and did this past winter.
Temperature also depends on altitude: summertime temperatures in the mountains often don't exceed 65F above 8000 ft. But overall, I guess I'd describe Arizona as sunny and dry with short wet spells. Temperature is a lot harder to quantify, since the seasonal variability of average high temperatures exceeds 50F for Phoenix and Tucson, and it really depends on altitude.
there are only two seasons... Summer, and summer's coming
Northern AZ you do have four seasons.
The REST of AZ is HOT, DRY %26amp; DEADLY.
Snow-Birds (Retirees) come here to DIE.
The Typical temp here is more like 110, it can get up in the 120.
Monsoon Season is just about here... RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN THUNDER LIGHTENING RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN FLOODS
At night when the surface of the sun isn't up and burning every pore on your body, it can get quite nice 40-70 typically... but hopefully its not windy!!! DUST STORMS %26amp; ALLERGIES!
I live IN the Huachuca Mountains it has been in the high 90s the past couple days and hasn't touched the high limits. It has been extremely GUSTY, blowing trees, small children, cats %26amp; dogs everywhere!!! Birds can't even fly!
warm or hot.Mostly dry.
