What is the weather like near the Phoenix, Arizona area?

I'm writing a book about a fictional small town a few hours drive from Phoenix and I want to get the temperature right. What is it like year round, spring, summer, fall, and winter. What is the weather like near the Phoenix, Arizona area?
Well it depends if your going North or south...North in the winter/fall/spring/ gets snow and it's just a few hours from phnx....if it's winter/fall/spring and it's south it's going to be warmer...
I like your research technique. Several other people noticed that you said, "A few hours drive from Phoenix."

They are correct is noticing your terms. A few hours north and the weather is considerably colder. A few hours south and the weather is much warmer. Rewrite that phase of your book based upon looking at the topography maps of the Valley of the Sun, which is Phoenix. That will tell you where the higher elevations and colder temps kick in. When you leave the valley it cools down very quickly. The kicker to your question is your use of the words, "A few hours."

The English language is susceptible to minute phraseology changes. Pretty cool, huh? What is the weather like near the Phoenix, Arizona area?
In the summer, it is very dry and hot. around a 90 degree F average. The winters are very cold, around the 40s-50s the coldest, and it sometimes snows. Springs and falls are typical...
