yes . I would play for Arizona just for the sake of loving to play football and knowing that i play very well. But really the only thinb\g it comes down to is...scholarship....!
IF "they gave you your best offer and provided what you wanted to do only at school", then sure. It might be the best opportunity to get college education. Besides, living away from home is an adventure.WOULD YOU PLAY FOOTBALL FOR ARIZONA EVEN IF YOU ...........?
I would see what my other options were, but if this is your best option you should go for it...maybe you could be a big standout at the school and get more P-T. Could be the best decision you make.

Best of luck to you.

What to wear to a January wedding in Missouri?

I'm from Arizona and I'm not used to whatever kind of weather Missouri will have in January. What sort of outfit could I wear to the wedding that will keep me warm but still look formal?

(I don't know what time the wedding is, I think it's at a church and I don't want to wear pants!)

Thanks for your help! What to wear to a January wedding in Missouri?
As a St. Louis girl, I would recommend wearing whatever you would normally wear to a wedding. Since it's a winter wedding, wear tights or pantyhoes, closed-toed shoes, add a sweater or wrap to your outfit, and be sure to bring a nice, warm coat, hat, gloves and scarf (most nice wedding venues will have a coat check where you can leave these items). Be prepared for very cold, snowy, wintery weather. But, like another poster said, the weather here in the midwest can be very unpredictable... it might even be warmer than you expect! (Yesterday the temperature got up to 55 or so - pretty nice! Today the high was 22 and it's drizzling/snowing and icy!)
I swear by thick tights and boots. For instance, last month I went to an outdoor wedding (in Missouri! in November! with snow!) wearing a high black boots, a kind of mod red dress, and black tights. Under the boots I wore an unsexy pair of tube socks. That outfit was quite warm enough for the indoor reception. For the ceremony I added my black and white boiled wool coat and a cute hat.

Think about layers. For instance, you might sneak a close-fitting cami under a dress if you can do so unobtrusively. A LBD would look lovely with a bright cardigan and a pair of textured tights. If you're really expecting a cold day, try wearing more than one pair of tights. It's 13 here today, and I'm wearing two pair. If you're thinking about wearing a shawl, pick a nice thick pashima-style rather than a gauzy little thing.

Hope that helps. What to wear to a January wedding in Missouri?
Dear unrach,

it is 19 degrees here right now, and it can get that cold or worse in January.

Make sure your wear a coat, have gloves, and something to put on your head. You might consider slipping a pair of jeans or slacks under your party dress, and slipping them off in the bathroom before you go into the reception, or wearing a pair of pantyhose, and doing the same.

We here when the weather is bad wear a sturdy pair of shoes, change them to our party shoes in the bathroom or the foyer of the reception, we bring a couple baggies to slip them into so you won't soak any purses or leak water anywhere, if it is raining or snowing or sleeting[it did all three yesterday].

Bring something for your shoulders for the party if you are a cold type person, plenty of time to go find a shawl or a shrug or a jacket to carry.

PS, if the wedding is in a church, churches here are notorious for not turning up the heat in the winter. I have worn my coat through more than one church Xmas or New Years program. Make sure your bring your wrap.

And before you get on the plane, check the weather. We were at 50+ yesterday. The weather could be very nice, and you might not need special things.

and let me take this oportunity to explain chill factors. The temperature on the weather does not take into acount the wind, which when blowing cold air, can make it feel way colder. Today we are at 19, but the chill factor right now is around 0. It was -20 below earlier. Step out of a disabled car for more than a few minutes, at those temps, and count on frostbite.
Something like a sweater dress with tights and dress shoes or boots. Nothing cream, white or ivory. You can wear a cute dress(even if it's short sleeve) and have a fur or dressy wrap.

If you wear a dress with thicker stockings you should be fine. Just don't wear any really thin material dresses. You could always get a half or 3/4 sleeve dress, knee length with boots and a nice thick stockings underneath that noone would see anyway. Take a warm coat and a pashmina to complement your dress and wrap yourself with that if you need to. All the best.
If you are inside you should be fine. Just bring a nice coat. Im pretty sure January is our coldest month! Bring plenty of warm clothes to wear while you are here. Maybe like a cute sweater dress or something.
mitten, long underwear, insulted boots, earmuffs, long loose ladylike dress.its is minus 4 degrees here today, snow and freezing rain, will be this way thur march
anything except white
u should wear a long dress with high heels and a very big coat january is the coldest month we have in missouri
Maybe a long skirt and a dress jacket
Clothes:

You should wear a sundress that is colorful and flowing!

*Just to stay casual*

if the weather is colder then wear some dress jeans w/ boots tucked in

with a cute top
a really puffy dress...all the layers are bound to keep you warm

and maybe a really fluffy shoal......idk

good luck!
jeans shorts a flannel shirt with the sleeves ripped off and a Confederate flag hat

What kind of glue should I use to adhere gems to an emblem that will be on the outside of my car?

I also live in Arizona...so it needs to be a glue that will withstand 150 degrees, and obviously weather conditions. What kind of glue should I use to adhere gems to an emblem that will be on the outside of my car?
JB weld 2 part epoxy. Find it in the auto dept of major retailers or any auto parts store.

It's sold in a blister pack with 2 tubes, one is red and one is black. Price is around $3.50 to 5 bucks

Mix same amount of red tube with black tube (I use a pc. of junk cardboard to squeeze the JB weld out onto and use an Ink pen that dont write any more to mix it together and to apply it)

Once mixed, just apply to back of your gens and sit them on your emblem.

If the emblem is still on the car, use duct tape to hold gem on till JB weld cures. It takes a good 10 hours for JB weld to fully cure.

Once cured it will withstand anything you can put it throughWhat kind of glue should I use to adhere gems to an emblem that will be on the outside of my car?
An epoxy glue (2 part glue that requires mixing together) would be the best bet - they are heat resistant to about 300 degrees. Before you jump in and start the job, you should test it. But be careful doing that indoors, the fumes can be a problems.

epoxy adhesives are a major part of the class of adhesives called "structural adhesives" or "engineering adhesives" (that includes polyurethane, acrylic, cyanoacrylate, and other chemistries.) These high-performance adhesives are used in the construction of aircraft, automobiles, bicycles, boats, golf clubs, skis, snowboards, and other applications where high strength bonds are required. Epoxy adhesives can be developed to suit almost any application. They can be used as adhesives for wood, metal, glass, stone, and some plastics. They can be made flexible or rigid, transparent or opaque/colored, fast setting or slow setting. Epoxy adhesives are better in heat and chemical resistance than other common adhesives. In general, epoxy adhesives cured with heat will be more heat- and chemical-resistant than those cured at room temperature. The strength of epoxy adhesives is degraded at temperatures above 350 掳F (177 掳C).[6]

  • How safe is it to leave a pet in a sweater unsupervised?

I made a sweater for my cat, using a boughten one for a pattern. I have been worried about him feeling chilly lately, that's why I did that. He's been crawling under the covers with me. He's Siamese, and spent the first 7 years of his life in Arizona. Now that we have moved to Minnesota and he is a bit older, he seems to really feel the cool, damp weather. He's happily curled up in a ball, sleeping. Should I wake him up and take the sweater off him, because I may be paranoid, but something could happen with it on? Or am I worried for nothing, and pets who need sweaters do just fine without being watched all the time? How safe is it to leave a pet in a sweater unsupervised?
As long as the cat is not outside in the very cold weather you should leave the sweather off when you are not there to supervise. I have small dogs and would never leave a sweater on them when I was not home. It could be caught on something and they could choke to death. Better to be safe. Just keep his pillow/blanket close to warmth. How safe is it to leave a pet in a sweater unsupervised?
If it fits him right, it should be okay. If it seems to get caught on things or there's a way he can choke in it, take it off of him!How safe is it to leave a pet in a sweater unsupervised?
as long as the sweater fits correctly, your pet should be just fine w/o supervision...however, if your cat is not in room temperature(out in the heat) I would suggest taking it off because all regular household pets can dehydrate and get heat exhaustion or ending up having a "heart attack" just like human beings...

Does anyone have an experience of a heat pump (air conditioned) sistem on a really hot weather (100 plus F)?

looking for the best sistem on the market... well the best i can afford. for use on really hot weather -summer avg. 103 F- and mild winters(arizona desert) . Im building a new home , so its easy to make any installations.Does anyone have an experience of a heat pump (air conditioned) sistem on a really hot weather (100 plus F)?
Being that you live in Arizona I would go with just straight cool with electric or gas heat. The resaon is because heat pumps are more efficient mostly in the south east. Norh of the Mason Dixon they definitely loose their efficiency because of colder climates. I'm not sure how cold you get in the winter but as long as it's mainly above 35 to 45 degrees, straight cool would do you just right. Not to mention, it would be cheaper.Does anyone have an experience of a heat pump (air conditioned) sistem on a really hot weather (100 plus F)?
hell thats mild compared to what im used to. Its a constant 120 almost in Havasu.Does anyone have an experience of a heat pump (air conditioned) sistem on a really hot weather (100 plus F)?
Heat pumps do ok in summer. They are not efficient in the winter and when its really cold you get very little heat!

What climate do hot peppers grow in?

my group is doing this project on the climate problems etc. in Phoenix, Arizona. Can hot peppers grow in that weather like citrus (oranges) can? If not do you know any other plants, vegetables, fruits that can? Please leave a site from the internet if you got it off a site. Please help if you can! What climate do hot peppers grow in?
I live in Wisconsin %26amp; we grow them in the summer. From what I know they like hot weather %26amp; not alot of water. So I would think they would grow in the same weather as oranges. Don't know if that helps. What climate do hot peppers grow in?

Any where citrus will grow, hot peppers will flourish.

Is it poosible a beer glass could be exploded naturally in just 93F degree of room temperature in Arizona?

A beer glass of two coffee-cup size was burst in to pieces with sharp bang suddenly in my kictchen of mobile home on last year in Mesa, Arizona. Room temperature was only about 93F. How could it be happening ? Nothing touched it at all. Only what I could suspect is that I had been using two Black%26amp; Decker ultrasonic pest repellants on the opposite side in the electric outlet of kitchen. Does it affect even to break a sturdy beer glass to peices like an explosion in only 93F degree of hot weather in the room of Arizona? This is still shocking and a mystery to me. In the physics, is there some theory in this kind of case of combination?

I don't think it is a work of ghost or spirit at all as someone might say that way. There may be some natural reason to explain it.

Students in physics or any scientific-minded persons who have experienced this sort of stuff once in a lifetime! Your rationale or scientific theory would be very appreciated. No guessing, please. Is it poosible a beer glass could be exploded naturally in just 93F degree of room temperature in Arizona?
Glasses are under a lot of internal stresses, specially low cost ones. A small scratch could start these internal stresses to release, and the glass could easily shatter.

The ultrasonic sources could have played a part, don't know.

.Is it poosible a beer glass could be exploded naturally in just 93F degree of room temperature in Arizona?
I used to work at a restaurant that had tempered glass lamp shields and beer glasses. Tempered glass has a weird habit of surviving shocks that would shatter ordinary glass only to disintegrate days later at the slightest vibration.

If the glass broke up into thousands of pea-sized pieces with dull edges this is likely what happened.

The explanation is this: The tempering process prestresses the glass, putting the skin under tensile stress and the inside under compressive stress. These are normally in balance. Now the initial shock puts a microscopic crack that does not quite penetrate the skin so it holds together. Then the vibration works the crack back and forth until finally the stresses are no longer in balanced opposition and the unbalanced stresses rip the glass into pieces faster than the speed of sound, and the remaining stresses warp the edges into dullness. Is it poosible a beer glass could be exploded naturally in just 93F degree of room temperature in Arizona?
Yes, it is possible. It happens in a microwave often, when the glass is heated unevenly. This is common in thick glass, because it's heated from the inside - out, with the interior expanding against in outer portion and it shatters explosively.

The ultra-sonic repellant MAY have caused the same thing to happen.

How do I keep my hair straight all day long?

I have a Conair flat iron and it was about $30. I use it about every day and usually after a few hours it will curve and "flip" at the ends and it never stays straight all day long like I want it to. It usually curves and "flips" after about 2 or 3 hours, especially in humid or hot weather. Does it flip because of the humidity (I live in Arizona) and heat from sweating, or is it just the possibility of my flat iron not being of a high-quality.

I thought about saving up about 50 bucks to buy a really good flat-iron at Sally's or something (my current flat iron is from Wal-Mart), and I don't want to waste my money, so do you think it'll work better? Is there any straightening gel or mousse or anything that will keep my hair straight for AT LEAST 6 hours and won't fry my hair? Please help; I need a good product. How do I keep my hair straight all day long?
I THINK ITS BECUZ OF THE HUMIDITY

AND I BOUGHT A FLAT IRON AT SALLY'S IT WAS $70 AND IT WORKS REALLY GOOD :]
God same happens to me. Try a better straightener or put soem hairspray on the ends only. How do I keep my hair straight all day long?
my hair does the same thing..its usually from humidity and hot weather..i have a remington and it still does that to me too and i have yet to find something that works...try garnier anti-humidity cream..don't get the hairspray cause it just makes your hair feel weird..get like the milky cream stuff
It could be all sorts of things. It could be your flat iron.. the flat iron I use is great.. it is Paul Mitchell Pro Smoothing Ceramic Iron. It has many heat settings.. and in the manual it will tell you what heat setting you should have it on for your specific hair type.

But it very well could be the humiduty, considering you live in Arizona. So the first thing I would try is using a anti-frizz serum. But the product I use is Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. It smooths and protects the hair, and it reduces blow-dry time, and it is also a heat protectant so your hair will always look healthy, and not fried from always straightening.

My sister is a cosmetologist so feel free to e-mail anytime with questions. Hope I helped a little... good luck. How do I keep my hair straight all day long?
I have a chi that cost be about $200 when it first came out, and if it's humid my hair still curls, but not even a blow out from a stylist can survive a really humid day. I've started using kpak straightening balm when i do and it keeps my super curly hair pretty straight even if it is kinda humid. I'd still invest in a better straightener because they don't fry your hair as much and usually work better in the long run

I've been there many times...I was really knocked over on the the facilities...from the dorms, the athletic facilities, to the classrooms. They put / are putting / and contiue to put money into expanding their facilities.

The library is first rate and the computer lab was one of the biggest I've ever seen from taking college tours.

The W.P Carey School was voted one of the top business schools in the country. They also have many other excellent degree programs.

The have a few campuses with the Tempe being the main and largest. If you contact ASU...they have recruiting tours that go around the USA...we went to one and it was pretty informative. They also have a Facebook community where you can get a lot of your questions answered

Yes, I know, it has a party school reputation but, it was very very impressive. Besides, what school doesn't have some kind of reputation. Right now airfares are really inexpensive (especially Jet Blue) go there and take the tour...you won't be disappointed.

I would highly recommend it...you definitely get all that you pay for.

    Good Luck
I do not attend ASU, but I may go there if I decide to not attend UCLA. My mother moved to Arizona, so I may want to be closer to her.

ANYWAY, I've been on campus. It's nice. I really liked it. The people I met there were really nice. For some reason, people seem more friendly in Arizona than in California.

And the weather...kinda sucks. Well, it depends on what kind of weather you like really. Summer is blazin' hot. It gets insane. And summer is so long. Last year, it didn't end till the end of October/early November...and started in April/May. And monsoon season isn't fun at all. Winters are nice usually, though.

You'll probably like it over all, though. Good luck!Arizona State University?
Hmm i really don't have an answer for you! But i have the same question im planning to go there too and i live in MN but i do go there every winter... Its nice weather just not in August! It gets really hot haha.
Im not going to ASU but my brother did. ITS AWESOME. the people are chill, the school is great theres a huge library with like 1000 computers and 10000000 books. The only bad thing is the 120 degree summers (no joke)Arizona State University?
It's awesome. Lots of school pride. But also known for a 'party' school.

How do you get rid of or deal with scorpions in your home?

I live in Mesa, Arizona. I have been here about a year now, we moved from Colorado. Never in my life have I had to deal with scorpions until we moved here. Last summer I found one in my bathroom. Two months ago I found another one and now today I found one in my living room, it crawled out of the mop head as I was getting ready to mop. I am extremely clean, I vacume everyday, and mop at least once a week. I am petrified of scorpions. Not to mention I have a 13 month old who crawls all over the place, I'm worried that he might get stung. I seem to see them in my house as the weather gets hotter. I called my husband and told him I want to move out of Arizona because it has gotten me so scared. How do you get rid of scorpions? And how does everyone else out here live with them and not have a problem...please help? How do you get rid of or deal with scorpions in your home?
Sticky traps and a professional bug guy. Also, make sure the area around your house does not have good home sites for the scorps. They like to live under dead leaves, wood, etc.... Clean well two or three feet back from the house. If your house is brick, fill the weep holes (unmortared places between bricks a the bottom of the wall) with steel wool.

I sympathize with you, scorpions give everyone the heebee geebees. I've been in my country house for 18 years. I saw maybe three in the house in first 13 years and probably 50 in the last 5 years. The methods described above will help control the scorps but not get rid of them completely.

Identify the scorpion species. The ones I get (North of Dallas) are not particularly dangerous. You want to know this if you or your little one get stung. The wife and I have both been stung in the house, not fun, very much like a wasp sting.

Good LuckHow do you get rid of or deal with scorpions in your home?
Learn this quick, they travel in pairs, so if you find one you will soon find another. Arizona native. My sister has rock skirting and she uses a blacklight to find them in the rocks, then she puts them in straight bleach. It kills them. This is the only thing that we know of that truely works. You can spray around your home as well but honestly we've tried that and it never worked. You just have to be on guard.

For Arizona definitely straight cool w/electric heat or gas. A heat pump would not be very efficient in this case. You can figure 1 ton per 600square feet of home. That is a safe estimate.

Trane, Carrier, York All good units!

Should the NFL start considering putting the Super Bowl in cold climate cities from now on?

At first I didn't like the idea of a Super Bowl being played in cold weather, but I get sick of the Super Bowl being played in Miami, New Orleans, or Arizona all the time. Do you think they should start doing this from now on?

BQ: If you had to pick a cold weather city to host a Super Bowl, where would you pick?Should the NFL start considering putting the Super Bowl in cold climate cities from now on?
No. This is more than just a football game. Take into consideration the entertainment and the fans. If it turns out to be sub zero tempatures or a blizzard the multitudes will suffer. Also how about transportation and the like. If a day like the following February 10 2010 occurs the airports will be shut down and the driving conditions will be unsafe. They are taking a big chance on this possibly happening. In a warm weather city i.e. Miami, San Diego or Phoenix were this does not have a chance of ruining the day. This is a media extravaganza and is the biggest one day sporting event on planet Earth.
I think it would make it more dramatic. I would love to see a cold weather game. I agree that they need to switch it up. It`ll get more people interested in the game as a whole.

BQ: Most people won`t agree, but I`m going with Lambeau. The history of the stadium alone, makes it a great candiate to host the Super Bowl. LOL, I totally agree with you on the fact that Heinz Field would be the crappiest. BTW, I did see that Miami game when it was raining and the ball just plopped in the ground, LOL.Should the NFL start considering putting the Super Bowl in cold climate cities from now on?
If they can play conference championships in inclement weather, why not the Super Bowl? Football is supposed to be played in the elements. I live in Southern California, but I had the opportunity to see a Patriot game at Gillette Stadium in December a couple of years ago. It snowed heavily the night before and it was freezing at the game. I had a great time and the bad weather added to a great gameday experience.

Gillette Stadium is a great Stadium, and as much as I would like to see a Super Bowl there, I don't think it is ever going to happen.
how about a medium weather city.. seattle doesn't get too cold, and mostly it is rain, it has an open stadium but not something that is gonna get buried

I like the idea of spreading the superbowl wealth around to other areas, it will boost those cities financially and give people an excuse to go see and explore those cities even if they normally wouldn't have. plus stadiums are built to be showcased and that is the ultimate showcase, so let every stadium be seen even by the people who watch football one day out of the year, they may enjoy it more often.Should the NFL start considering putting the Super Bowl in cold climate cities from now on?
i like the idea of a cold weather super bowl although i do see both sides of the coin...some of the best games in the history of the nfl have been in cold weather ie the ice bowl the NY Giants Green Bay packer NFC championship game of a few years ago the Ice bowl etc etc... teams must play in the elements all season why not for the biggest game of the year? but then again on the other side the Super Bowl is far more than just a football game it is a week or even a two week event and most people that go to the super bowl go fro the even not just the game and it would be tough to have all the typical super bowl week ceremonies in a cold weather city, but i say why not....

As far as the cold weather city to host a super bowl i think there would be nothing better than the 50th anniversary of the big game just a few short years from now to be played at the most historic stadium in the NFL Lambeau Field
    They HAVE to now.

There鈥檚 no way that they can justify not giving the Superbowl to other outdoor cold weather stadiums after giving the 2014 Superbowl to the Meadowlands Stadium in Jersey.

It鈥檒l take a while but eventually all NFL teams, including the warm weather teams will have domed stadiums.

Even though the states are supposedly warm weather states it CAN get QUITE chilly enough to affect the play of warm weather or domed stadium teams.

That鈥檚 PART of what happened with the Colts in SB44.

As the temperature drops, Peyton starts losing focus and his skill diminishes.
No. There's nothing wrong with having one once in a while, as a change of pace. But I wouldn't make a habit of it.

If I had to pick a cold weather city, I'd pick Minneapolis. Just because I'm a Vikings fan. I know the Metrodome isn't a beloved stadium, but I actually enjoy watching games there.
Im really not all that passionate about one side or the other right now but I guess I would have to be on the side of warm weather stadiums still.
personally I think they should bid on each year, 5 years at a time. But only once every 5 years so more teams get a chance
Only once every so many yrs...5, 10, or 15...and yea i get sick of it being in the same places.

    Philly!
maybe once every ten years would be OK

Is anyone from Chandler, Arizona? Or close to there?

Me and my mom are thinking about moving to Chandler Arizona and I just wanted to know what it was like. I'm from New Jersey and have never been anywhere near Arizona. I want to know what kinda of people live there, what's the weather like, driving laws, weird laws, the schooling, etcc .. Please and thank youuuu :)Is anyone from Chandler, Arizona? Or close to there?
I live on the Gilbert side of the Gilbert-Chandler border. It's home to some of the best shopping in the Valley (not as good as Scottsdale, but still has a nice mall). I would assume that normal people live here, haha... But it's HOT. Arizona in general is hot, especially in the summer. We're freezing at 50 degree weather and 90 degrees is fairly nice. I think you have to be 15 yr. 6 mo. to get a drivers permit, and 16 to get your license. The schools in Chandler is supposed to be really good, but try to go to Hamilton High School out of all of the high schools. :)Is anyone from Chandler, Arizona? Or close to there?
I live in chandler on the boarders of tempe %26amp; mesa. it's a safe residential suburbia. There's lots of malls such as chandler fashion square mall. The schools are good. The weather is 120-130 average in the summer time %26amp; 50-60 in the winter time. There's special lanes in the road just for bikes to ride on.Is anyone from Chandler, Arizona? Or close to there?
I use to live there. like to years ago. i live in mesa now. but chander is pretty tight. weather is hot in summer but nice in winter. aha. ahh idk you just have to feel it out for yourself

and I was wondering what the weather is like.. I know its around 60 degrees at the high..but is it snowing? Raining? if anyone from there can give me some sort of idea..thanks!So im from Arizona..and going to go to San Antonio, texas first weekend of December?
The highs in the first week of December are closer to the high 60s and low 70s the lows are in the high 40s. Last year on Dec 2 it was in the 80s. December is one of the driest months of the year in San Antonio, so we don't expect significant precipitation. Snow in San Antonio is extremely rare usually occurring in measurable amounts less than every 10 years.
No snow, that is a really rare occurrence. It could rain, but it's usually not too rainy. It really depends on that particular weekend, and if there's a cold front or rain in the forecast. You should be alright, but just remember to check the forecast before you head over so you know what to pack.So im from Arizona..and going to go to San Antonio, texas first weekend of December?
STAY AWAY FROM TEXAS.. THE WEATHER SUCKS.. ITS HOT IN THE WINTER AND ITS HELL IN THE SUMMER.. REALLY.. ITS NOT ONLY HOT BUT HUMITT .. THERE IS HARDLY ANY RAIN AT ALL.. AND SNOW ONLY HAPPENS IN NORTHERN TEXAS..

YESTERDAY, IT WAS 84.. AND IT WAS AT 11PM..

WINTER DOESNT GET HERE UNTIL EARLY JAN.. UNTIL MID FEB.. OCT - NOV - DEC ARE JUST LIKE 85-92 AVERAGE..

BUT YOU ARE FROM ARIZONA.. YOU CAN LEARN TO DEAL WITH THE EXTREME WEATHER..
I am close to San Antonio. In Texas you can expect very little snow EVER. We are known as a hot state. This winter we do expect it to get a little colder but maybe 40 at the lowest.

have fun !So im from Arizona..and going to go to San Antonio, texas first weekend of December?
well for starters it does not snow that often in sa so maybe just bring a normal jacket, gloves and ear muffs. it is usually around the forties.
it doesnt snow in S. Texas. Rain possibly.

How do I reduce my calf size?

I have heard that doing calf raises will reduce them, from some people, and that that will bulk them up from others. So which is it!! I got lipo already, so I know just muscle is left. I live in Arizona and cannot wear skirts in the 120 degree weather because I am embarassed. How do I reduce my calf size?
Calf raises will make your muscles larger - period. Your body responds to exercise by making the worked muscles stronger and this usually means increased size. Doing calf raises with decreased weight and a large number of reps might make them more toned, but it will NOT make them smaller. Only time and decreased activity will make your calf muscles shrink. This will be the result of muscle atrophy and will probably not result in a great deal of change from their current size and appearance. How do I reduce my calf size?

In cold weather (night vs. day, in Arizona @40-70*f) I can feel a big differece in the power, and take off's. Okay; I know it's because no cold air intake, but I do have an after market intake, and filter, "S and B intake" goes to drives side. But the differnce in power can't be normal. It wasn't like this once. Like there's somthing else wrong, like some sensor.

Geology question- Weather (fractured granite boulder)?

Would you expect a fractured granite boulder to weather more quickly if it was in Ottawa, Canada or in Phoenix, Arizona? Why?Geology question- Weather (fractured granite boulder)?
    Possible weathering mechanisms:

    Ottawa:

    Chemical weathering (precipitation)

Frost disintegration (expansion of water when freezing in cracks)

Thermal weathering (expansion en contraction with temperature changes)

Biological weathering (plants breaking down rock)

    Phoenix:

Thermal weathering (expansion en contraction with temperature changes)

Though the thermal weathering will be more severe in Phoenix, more and more diverse processes will weather the boulder in Ottawa. Frost disintegration can be especially devastating.Geology question- Weather (fractured granite boulder)?
Canada as granite is most susceptible to freeze/thaw weathering: water in cracks expands as it turns into ice, expanding cracks and eventually causing spalling of outer surface.Geology question- Weather (fractured granite boulder)?
Glacier vs. dry wind, which does the most damage. Ottawa, Canada.

I'm going to Arizona next Saturday?

I live in Florida, and I'm going to Arizona next Saturday with my mom for a business trip. They told me that it is gonna be very cold there compared to the weather in Florida. Any recommendations or advices about the weather or places to have some fun?

We are going on a tour the very next day!

    Thanks!

I'm going to Arizona next Saturday?
Go to the Grand canyon! Take one of the airplane or helicopter tours. You can spend days looking around.I'm going to Arizona next Saturday?
Hi I live in Arizona. Right now its kinda cold out for someone that is used to the heat. The Highs are in the low 70s and the lows are in the high 40s so it can get kinda cold but not too cold. There arent really any amusement parks in Az but there is like fiddlesticks, cracker jacks, the closest thing to an amuzement park is castles and coasters but ive never been there. It all depends on which part of Az you are going to.I'm going to Arizona next Saturday?
    Where in Arizona?

Should be warm by Phoenix and points south. Flagstaff, 100 miles north of Phoenix could be cold. Flagstaff is at ~7000' elevation (higher than Denver). Phoenix is at about 2200' elevation.

  • What is something cheap or free I can do for my husband's birthday?

I spent all my money on a party for him, but feel bad because his actual birthday is today and he's kind of depressed because it's his 40th. Any ideas?I was thinking maybe a picnic or something since the weather is nice. (I live in Arizona)What is something cheap or free I can do for my husband's birthday?
sure~ do the picnic, put on the sexiest undergarments you have and give him a peak while you are Picnicking~ but then take him back HOME and take a Shower together~ while you "Pamper" him.
    always,

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY~ YOUNG MAN!!!!
Oral sex, seriously men don't like all this romantic cr*p, like picnics, unless sex is for dessert.

Do you know some of his fantasies you haven't yet explored ?

Also evey man will like oral for his birthday.

men only pretend to like picnics and romantic walks because they know you think it is cute, all would much prefer oral/kinky sex. What is something cheap or free I can do for my husband's birthday?
Spoil him much? LOL...Yeah a picnic would be nice, and if he has a sense of humor, a candle in a Hostess cupcake would be a nice touch.
Well, there is the obvious as everyone has pointed out but I think a picnic is a great idea. Getting to relax outside with some good food should make him smile. Then follow with the obvious if you wish! What is something cheap or free I can do for my husband's birthday?
I just turned 40. It sucks. Spice up the bedroom for his birthday. Start with a full body massage and use your imagination for the rest!
Hop in the shower with him but leave a white tank top on. Not only will he get sex but the visual of the wet shirt plastered to your body is a great visual. Follow up with your picnic
have him meet you in the bedroom, you can figure out the rest

    Attic Fans in Arizona?

I live in a 900sf condo over a carport. I have a peaked roof w/ attic. My a/c bill is high during summer due to the heat from the carport and just 110 degree weather. Will an attic fan help lower my a/c bill? and what is the appx price for unit and installation. guesstimates would be expected.

    ThankyouAttic Fans in Arizona?
The purpose of an attic fan is to lower the temperature of the attic to 1) extend the life of the roof, and 2) reduce the radiant heat flow into the ceiling of the home.

An attic fan is mounted on the roof, or less frequently (and less effectively) in the end gable. It draws air through soffit (eaves) vents and exhausts it through the roof ventilator. The lowest temperature will be the outdoor temperature (hot in Phoenix) which is still cooler than the intense heat generated in the attic. A solar powered roof ventilator should be energy neutral, while an AC powered ventilator may consume as much energy as it saves in air conditioning expense.

A whole-house fan is cut through the ceiling into the attic space and is used to draw cooler night air from outdoors into the house and out through the attic. It works so long as the outside temperature is cooler than the inside temperature. (That is probably December or January in Phoenix).

And then you must ask if your HOA will allow the visual or noise of the power ventilator to be installed.

Perhaps the most efficient expenditure would be to add insulation to your attic to achieve a higher R value, or resistance to heat flow, install the most energy efficient windows, and use insulated window treatments to reduce heat gain through the glass.

  • Should I move to arizona?

I live in california (east bay ). I would like to move to arizona but I have some concerns. I work for restaurant industry in california how is job market there. I have two kids how is education. I dont mind hot weather. The reason we want to move from california is high living standard. Plz help . Thanks

    .Should I move to arizona?
California does not have a high living standard. What they have is a high cost of living. I'm looking at gas prices right now and in Phoenix the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.56. In Oakland it is $4.09. That's just one example.

The restaurant business is better here in the cooler months of the year when the Snowbirds arrive. They eat out more often having flown from their cold, northern snowy states.

You obviously have a computer so check Craigslist-Phoenix to get a feel for the job descriptions which are open in the area. You can also check on Monster and CareerBuilder.

The overall education ranking of Arizona is not good. We are almost at the bottom of the list.
The service industry is BIG in places like the Phoenix metro area %26amp; Scottsdale with resorts and casinos. Arizona is a big state, what part of the state are you moving to? The northern part is beautiful, but the job situation is not as great as Phoenix or Tucson. Schools are ok, not the best. But there are some great charter schools, you should look into them. Yes the climate is very conservative in some parts, but I think it's more libertarian overall.Should I move to arizona?
If you do you will find that it's almost a different country than the Bay Area. Politically the opposite, extremely conservative rather than the ultra-liberal climate where you are. And if you're a racial minority you might not be comfortable.
because we are more conservative you should have more luck here plus a lot of people eat out here so your restaurant industry could benefitShould I move to arizona?
I for one think you would be better off in the Liberal Bay area. I doubt you'd like as Conservative and gun friendly as we are in Arizona

Is Relocating from Honolulu, Hawaii to Phoenix, Arizona a good choice?

    Hi,

I have lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for over 10 years now and am thinking of relocating to Phoenix, ARizona because I have read on the internet that there are many affordable rentals there with prices half of that in Honolulu. I wonder if the people who are living in Phoenix, Arizona can tell me if that's true and what do you think of someone relocating from Hawaii to Arizona?? Do you think I would like it there and is it going to be a very big change for me?? The weather here in Hawaii is pretty much the same all year round like around the 80's F... I don't know if I will like or can stand the summer heat in Arizona. But, I have experienced the heat in Austin, Texas, and found that to be kind of unbearable as I don't even want to be outside but I felt better when I was inside a car with air-conditioner.. So, is it hotter in Phoenix, Arizona THAN Austin, Texas, and do you think I would be able to stand the heat in Arizona?? Also, are there many office/clerical jobs??Is Relocating from Honolulu, Hawaii to Phoenix, Arizona a good choice?
that's so funny- you are talking abotu the same cities I'm looking to move to. Never been to Austin, but that's a humid hot and I hear no one goes outside in teh summer there. Phoenix is hot, but it's a dry heat. LOTS and LOTS Of jobs. Don't expect to be able to buy a house though- expensive there! Why do you want to leave hawaii? I wanted to move there, but was afraid of island isolation and boredom. I like the amenities of big cities. Anyway, you can get a nice place in Phx by yourself for about $800 in nice areas (or spend as much as you want to - like anywhere). But around Tempe you can get a house with roomies too. My friend shares a 3 br rental house (his portion $300/month). Don't worry about jobs, just don't expect to land one before you relocate. Good luck!
ur nuts. Moving to Phx Arizona.. Ive lived 2 hrs away from there.. all my life.. and its hot miserable. muggy, polluted, Overcrowded, ... Jobs are ok.. Lots of them.. You want somwhere nice to move in az? go to FLAGGSTAFF. its not hot.

Is Relocating from Honolulu, Hawaii to Phoenix, Arizona a good choice?
AZ is wonderful! We have wonderful weather! Lots of stuff to do! Lots of jobs! Tons of shopping!

The weather is much drier than HI, no water nearby which can be a negative. Also, the winter in HI was warmer than here in Phoenix. We were in Maui in Feb/Mar
i live in phx...and went to austin for training...austin's weather is different than phx...austin is more humid and it doesnt get as hot as phx. as for affordable housing, i'm not sure what it costs it hawaii..only visited, never lived. to rent a home in phx, its around 1000 a month. apartments maybe in the 500 - 700 range depending on area and amenities. Is Relocating from Honolulu, Hawaii to Phoenix, Arizona a good choice?
I would stay, the property value in Hawaii is going to go up. In phoenix, however it is leveling off. True there are a lot of jobs, but housing isn't cheap.
Well, they're both about the same climate wise. HOT. Anything above 70 to me is hot. Check out Monster. You might be able to find jobs for Phoenix, AZ there.
I've lived in Arizona all my life. I love it. it's beautiful here. Come on over!

    Living in Arizona questions?

I'm thinking about moving to arizona and was wondering what the feed back is from people living there are there 1 or 2 bedroom apartments affordable in tempe or pheonix? entertainment? Weather? People? Thanks for the help?Living in Arizona questions?
Tempe and East Phoenix are nice areas. Since Tempe is College town (ASU) there is a lot going on, and scottsdale is right up the street to. The weather really sux right now! but it gets bitchin during the winter.
Some things you should consider before moving :

    1) Be prepared for extremely HOT weather, in the summer it can get up to 110 degrees in the winter the weather is usually around 60 degrees

    2) Depending where you live, nightlife is pretty dead. There's always a few good concerts through out the year.

    3) you will find that most people are pretty friendly but theres always strange people regaurdless of where you live

    4) apartments vary depending where in the city you want to liveLiving in Arizona questions?
Affordable apartments, yes. Personally I prefer North Phoenix. Some like Tempe. Others think Scottsdale (aka Snotsdale) is the best place.

The weather is hot. They have two seasons, summer and pseudo-summer. It gets over 120 degrees every July 4th. And that is at the airport. Downtown is like 130. You have to see it to believe it.

The people I liked most were North Phoenix. That is why I moved there from Scottsdale. But I may not be typical. So ask others.

Check out www.apartmentratings.com before you rent. And don't get hooked on Crystal meth.

    suerte.
You will find plenty. But keep in mind, most people don't understnad until they are here, but the Phoenix metropolitna area is like 12,000 sq miles. So there are tons of towns real close that you go to and live in to, like me; I live in Queen Creek.Living in Arizona questions?

I need to know about goodyear arizona?

i need to know the weather patterns, what type of natural resources does it have, does the city use alt. energy sources usedI need to know about goodyear arizona?
Goodyear is in the Phoenix area.

Weather patterns: mild winters; hot summers with monsoons. It is the desert southwest.

    Natural Resources: Sun

Alternative energy: Not as much as you'd think; or as they should, considering it's the desert and the sun shines 300 days a year. Solar power water heating is the most common, but it's not really utilized as much as it could be. SRP (salt river project electric system) sells ALT power but I'm not sure how it works. I do remember it was more expensive than regular power.I need to know about goodyear arizona?
This site has every thing you need to know.I need to know about goodyear arizona?
Desdemona pretty much covered it. The use of alternative energy is pretty much neglected because of the fact that the Palo Verde nuclear powerplant is nearby in Buckeye. PV is one of the largest reactor sites in the world.

  • I have a 27 year old geliding, that has started to lay down more often than normal, should I worry?

I saw another person that asked a similar question, and many people asked if the weather had changed, yet my horse has lived in Arizona and is used to the weather. I don't think he is colicking, because he gets up voluntarily and on his own, but i am very worried especially since he is my first horse and is my baby, so please please help me.I have a 27 year old geliding, that has started to lay down more often than normal, should I worry?
It can be a sign of pain, as when a horse has laminitis developing. They lie down to take the pressure off of the hooves. You can check for heat in the hooves, and feel the pulses in the pasterns. If the pulses feel like they are strong and bounding, and if the hooves feel hot, it could be an episode of laminitis, which requires medical attention from the vet. I would also observe closely for even the slightest sign of lameness, or any change in stance such as holding the forelegs forward to get weight off of the toes, or bringing the hind legs underneath the body for the same reason.

Your vet can examine him for laminitis, as well as performing an overall physical assessment, and if needed, can draw blood samples to rule out various disorders.

I would observe him closely for any other signs, and measure his vital signs if you know how and have the equipment to do it. That way, all of the information you gather can be related to your vet over the phone, and the vet will advise you from there.
Sounds to me like he's just getting older, and if the temps are getting low at night, maybe it makes his "old bones ache".

But, before you go taking any advice from someone on Yahoo!, call your vet.I have a 27 year old geliding, that has started to lay down more often than normal, should I worry?
I'd talk to your vet. This could just be that he's just getting older, but it could also point to a more serious issue. Best to ask an expert instead of having us guess.

Even if he's used to the weather, did this problem start along with the cold? It may just be the change of season getting to him. Make sure he's blanketed and has shelter.
What is he doing when he's laying down? Is he rolling and kicking or just laying there? Older horses will lay down a lot simply because their bones ache. It could be from arthritis or some other injury that he had previously. I would give your vet a call just to check since I'm not familiar with his behavioral patterns and soundness. If he's laying down day and night, this could be a reason to worry but the occasional sprawled out nap shouldn't be a cause for alarm.

I would still call your vet!I have a 27 year old geliding, that has started to lay down more often than normal, should I worry?
could be arthritis kuz he is getting old
I agree with just having a vet check him over to be on the safe side, but its probably just because hes getting older. Just like people older = more aches + pains.

Where did the Cards fans come from?

Were you hibernating waiting for something good to happen? Well here it is and all of a sudden, the Cardinals have a fan club. I'd just like to know, where were the Cardinals fans two years ago during their 5-11 season when they couldn't sell tickets. So please, someone convince me that Arizona fans are not fair weather and bandwagon riders.Where did the Cards fans come from?
    closet
I live in Arizona, but I'm a Broncos fan and will stay a Broncos fan. Yeah, it's really ridiculous that people all of a sudden are sporting FITZGERALD and HIGHTOWER jerseys everywhere they go. All the talk two years ago is how much of a joke the Cardinals franchise was and how we needed to "clean house." Now every one is a Cardinals fan when just three weeks ago, they were fans of different NFL teams. For that single reason I hope the Cardinals get dominated in the Super Bowl, so those fans will be put to shame for bandwagoning.Where did the Cards fans come from?
Well like you said about that 5-11 season. How were people going to support their favorite team for THAT.

Now Cardinals are in the SuperBowl and they FINALLY have something to cheer for. Come on man, they're making franchise history.

So let it be, let it be (: .

Yeah I'm a Cardinals fan, I'm proud of it to.

Even if MAYBE Cardinals lose tomorrow alot of people will be upset.

But still either way I'm happy since they made it this far and improved SO much since last year.
Think of all the Cowboys fans, 49ers fans, cards fans (small number), and all the people who are jealous of the Steelers and mush them into one big bandwagon.Where did the Cards fans come from?
It's not that I'm a Cards fan, it's just that I don't like the Steelers. Go Cards.
The Cards fans came from outer space
Where did YOU come from? Never seen you here.

It usually runs from about late May/ early June to September. Though it doesn't rain all the time so you might get a week or two where there is no rain at all. The peak of the monsoon season is mid July to mid August. Here's a good site that will give you everything you would want to know about the monsoon.

I might move to Arizona and I just wanted to know what it was like there. Like the weather most of the time, the people, food, activities, etc. Anything you think I should know about Arizona. Hope you got some answers for me.What is Arizona like?
Go to http://myfoxphoenix.com and check that site out it shows a lot about the city.
I have lived in Arizona for about 13 years now and depending on what kinds of things you like to do and weather you prefer, it's hard to tell you. The Phoenix area has the most to do but it's blazing hot here during the summer (today was 113! plus the humidity ugh!) but if you work you can spend your weekend at the pool, salt river, or at a lake near by. There are also lots of waterparks. Activities will depend on your age but there are lots of things to do. If you like the cooler weather live up north flagstaff/sedona area or somewhere near the mountains. Lots of people that live here in PHX also have or rent cabins up north during the summertime. I have also lived more southeast where weather is a little cooler but not too much to do unless you love nature stuff. What is Arizona like?
Depends where you are coming from - Phoenix weather is great except for the blazing hot summers. Arizona gets lots of sun. the people tend to be much friendlier than in New England, lots of Mexicans, great Mexican food, lots to do, but their sales taxes are killers!! Jobs tend to be plentiful, but pay kind of depends on the job. I hate Phoenix traffic, groceries are more expensive than New England, most shopping is done in Phoenix because of its' variety. Prescott is a growing area and very nice. Flagstaff is growing a lot, has a large Native American population, very friendly, looks bigger than it is, 7000 ft elevation so definitely has winters. The state is very varied when it comes to vegetation. It is not all desert as some people tend to think it is, so you are sure to find someplace you like. And we tend to drive a lot more when we are in Arizona just to go shopping because small towns do not have as much as we like. But we love Arizona because we do not have to deal with New England winters.
I have lived here in Phoenix all my life, im 21 and i love it here! There is an awesome nightlife and plenty things to do. I love that we can practically have fun in the sun all year round! People do tend to be a little on the crabby side, due to the heat but for the most part it just depends on what part of Arizona u plan to live in.. As for food, i mean we have probably the same kinds of food like everywhere else, however we do have a lot of little Mexican food places.. If u love the sun and can stand the heat for a couple months then u'll love it here, ya it gets up to at least 110 in the summer but its soooo worth it!What is Arizona like?
i lived in arizona for 16 years, and i really loved it. the weather in phoenix is really hot, but it's a dry heat, so it doesn't feel as hot as it really is, whereas humidity makes it feel 10 times hotter. flagstaff is perfect, the spring and summer get into the upper 90s and then it snows in the winter, with a ski resort in town. it really depends on where you live. i lived in phoenix for 4 years, and theres a lot to do. there are tons of malls and waterparks, plus there are good family activities, like the arizona science center. all over az there is great food, the mexican is the best! i lived in flagstaff for 12 years, and it was fantastic. its a relatively small town, so there's not as much to do as in phoenix, but you can go to the mall, go ice skating, go to the movies, and go shopping in the awesome downtown area. the people in arizona are pretty nice, and they tend to be more liberal, especially in flagstaff where hippies are everywhere!
Phoenix is like an oven that can heat up to 2000 degrees!.......just kidding! but it is really hot now. The winter and spring weather are great. If it gets too hot for you, Prescott is only 1 1/2 away or you can drive farther north where it's even cooler with big green trees mountains and lakes. You miss those things living in Phoenix. The entire Phoenix area is kind of weird because you can be in an upscale neighborhood, drive a few blocks, and you're in the Ghetto. You just need to know what you want. I live in Peoria, it's really nice, but I have to drive pretty far to find a REAL Mexican food restaurant or Mexican grocery store. Phoenix really lacks cultural diversity. There's no "Italian Neighborhood" or "China Town". Everything is really spread out.
Your question is a little more difficult to answer than you may imagine. The answer would depend on your age, occupation, and where, in Arizona, you might settle,

We have the Phoenix and Tucson areas... big cities with traffic congestion and all of the pros and cons you'd find in any big city. And then, there's Flagstaff and Prescott, Sierra Vista and many 'smallish towns' scattered around the State.

If you live in Phoenix, you're around five hours away from the ocean in San Diego, two hours north of Mexico and less than two hours away from mountainous Flagstaff. You can, literally, ski all morning in Flag, come back to Phoenix and sunbathe in the afternoon.

We have three excellent universities in Arizona, ASU, UofA and NAU in Flagstaff,

Phoenix boasts museums, festivals, theater, major sport franchises and just about any cultural outlet you could want. Our elementary and high schools are decent.

Weather in the southern and mid section of Arizona is hot.. very hot (100-117 degrees) throughout the summer (late May through late September). The winter months are heavenly.

In the northern Rim area, summers are comparatively cool and temperatures seldom climb past 85 degrees.

Arizona, as a whole, is in need of professionals (ie: teachers, nurses) as well as service workers. The payscale is low, compared to other areas but as our needs increase, it is getting much better.

Without knowing your exact circumstances, it's difficult to pinpoint any specific area or interest you might have.

Bottomline: other than the extreme summer temperatures in parts of Arizona, it is an "OK" place to live.
I have lived in Phoenix the last 2.5 years and can't wait to move to a better place. In the first year here we had at least 20 scorpions ( inside, not to count the ones from backyard), the second year it got better, we found around 7-8 inside

Because of these creatures and the heat you can't have the windows open during the night for about 5 months. You can say you have A/C, still you have to have some fresh air..

Trafic is bad,the air is so dry, the humidifier is a must. It is too hot for too long. you don't really have nice weather for more than 5-6 months. Whould I have known that, I woudn't had moved here, specially the scorpions, the endless horrible summer..

Houses are cheaper- one good thing , but I will give away my house for a appartment in San Francisco /Seattle
it is ok i have lived here for 4 years, just to go to school i live in Tempe az, it is really nice if you are in school there are alot of bars in tempe and plus mill ave. Once school is out in the summer time tempe is dead. ASU is dead too no one is around plus it gets to about 110 everyday, the winters are really nice. if you dont like snow, but if you do could always go up to flagstaff for a weekend.
i've lived in a lot of different cities around the US %26amp; Phoenix is my fav. esp for a large city. don't get me wrong.. i mean the weather is terribly hot like 2 months out of the year but besides that it is perfect. people are generally nice... you've got a lot of people moving in from Cali because it's getting ridiculously expensive over there. you've got a LOT of suburban families. some old money... some cowboys (lol but that's the older crowd). %26amp; there are some really snooty people that live in scottsdale.

anyway it is like, required to have a pool in your backyard %26amp; people spend their time chilling there, or at the malls, or going to concerts/clubs/bars whatever... usual city stuff. but... if you're highschool/college crowd there are desert parties! which are sick.

but what i really like about phoenix is that everything is new. the city is growing super fast so people just keep building %26amp; builing. i LOVE california, just for the beaches, but some of their roads/highways/traffic is just shitty. not in phoenix... even the ghetto areas look "nice"... well sort of. haha
Pros: Jobs, housing, beautiful sunsets, unique desert flair to the houses and buildings, 6 or 7 big malls and tons of restaurants, nice people, nice weather all the time except for the summer, 3 major universities, home swimming pools, and good night life.

Cons: Road construction, summer heat, traffic, pollution

Try to keep away from the Mesa area and it's great.
As for the weather: think of how hot hell might be. Southern Arizona is about 10 degrees hotter. People here are... different. Just yesterday there was an article in the newspaper talking about how weird people in Arizona are. We're just... not normal. As for the activities, the only thing that you should do in the summer is shopping. Why? Because most stores have a/c. I may have a slightly skewed view of this place because I've been forced to live here my whole life, and that's enough to drive anyone insane =)
its probaly one of the greatest placest to live except for the heat, which i dont think is really bad because im used to it and if you like getting tan and stuff like that its great!!! we dont have hurricians, tornados (we get warnings but the never happen) we get beautiful sunsets and the storms in the summer are sometimes huge! haha its a great place though
Ive lived here all my life!! I love it we dont worry much about bad weather other then excessive heat warnings in the summer.. winter is nice here!! But theres all kinds of stuff to do here for any age!! i wish i can take you to a website but i cant think of any on top of my head.
Its really hot, like 110Degrees or higher, and it feels hotter than the actual temperature reading. be warned !
Well I went once when I was little.

It was hot outside and stuff, we went to the cotton fields for fun and checked out the cotton. It was pretty cool.
i live there its blazzing hot in the summer it was like 112 degrees in the winter its nice cool wheather around 60 degrees
Blazing hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter.

    It's a desert.

I'm told parts of Arizona are actually pretty nice, but not the Phoenix area where I visited.

What is the best town in Arizona to raise a family and be a teacher?

I want to move to Arizona because I want warm weather year-round. I am a Special Education teacher with 3 children, 8 and under. I want a small town near a bigger city. Good schools and safety are important. I have never been to Arizona. We live in Maryland. What is the best town in Arizona to raise a family and be a teacher?
I don't teach in Arizona, but I know a person who moved to Tempe and loves it... she says it's a growing city and she had no problem finding a job there. The quality of life, from what I've heard, is excellent.

Good luck to you! What is the best town in Arizona to raise a family and be a teacher?
Prescott....it is where BILLY JACK was filmed. What is the best town in Arizona to raise a family and be a teacher?
    Wickenburg

You get the feeling of a small town.

You're not to far from Phoenix or Prescott.

And it is still large enough to have most of the amenities.

It is not hot all year round, the average high in December and January is mid to high 60's; February is 70's. The best months to swim are April and May, after that the pool water is too warm so it isn't refreshing. Our "rainy season" is July/August which is when we get severe thunderstorms, lightening storms, dust storms, and flash floods.

Most of the time though, the skies are clear with a light breeze. I love to hike a mountain at that time and just take in the beauty. Sometimes the summer months are a little unbearable; just don't drive a car with leather seats and stay hydrated.

I like living in Phoenix but it is getting a little crowded - which must mean it's a good place to live, since so many people want to.PEOLPLE WhO LIVE IN ARIZONA ANSWER!!!!!!!!!?
It is of course very hot during the summer months. above 100 temperatures. During the winter months, like right now, the weather gets chilly, but not freezing cold like in the midwest. Usually gets down in the 40s. Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the country by population and there are many suburbs surrounding it also, so there is a lot of traffic and congestion. But it is cool if you like big cities. It's pretty spread out.The metro area continues to grow very rapidly.

North Carolina is awesome, the weather there is warm and they are big on sports and theres alot of hispanics in certain areasNeeding some advice from people that live in NC?
NC is great... of course NC is big on sports.. panthers, bobcats (i know, not the best seasons but there getting there) not to mention all the college basketball... wheather isnt bad, cool/cold winters, warm/hot summers.... theres a good mix of race, white black, hispanic...just depend son where you go i guessNeeding some advice from people that live in NC?
    NC is big on sports!

and I reccomend living in Charlotte for a more city feel

If you want a good beach city then I recommend Wilmington

If you want mountains the the best mountain city is Asheville

I highly recommend you STAY AWAY from the Raliegh-Durham area FOR SURE.

Its very dangerous, and not much to do activity-wise.

How can a couple inches of rainfall fill dry riverbeds and cause flooding?

I'm new to Arizona and I've been looking at weather/rainfall. I've seen that in a month there might be 2-3 inches of rainfall and I've heard about flooding, etc. 2-3 inches?! That's nothing! I lived in New Jersey and there are 2 occasions where there was significant flooding, etc. Both of those cases there were about 9-12 inches of rainfall.

It just doesn't make any sense. 2-3 inches is like a drop of water compared to 10 inches! How can a couple inches of rainfall fill dry riverbeds and cause flooding?
It is not just the amount of rain that matters but the rate at which it falls. 50mm (2 inches) of rain over 24 hours will soak into the ground. 50mm in fifteen minutes cannot do that and runs off the surface down dry stream beds causing flash flooding. Enormous quantities of water are involved. If you had 50mm of rain in fifteen minutes over an area 10km X 10km (a small thunderstorm), that is 50,000cubic metres of water or 20 Olympic swimming pools dumped on the ground in 15 minutes. That water has got to go somewhere
It always happens in West Texas. How can a couple inches of rainfall fill dry riverbeds and cause flooding?
In hot climates like Arizona's, the soil becomes baked hard, and won't easily absorb much rainfall. So the water just runs over the surface and collects in the valleys, causing flooding.
you're right in that it's only 2-3 inches. but all that water has to go somewhere. if the water is not absorbed by the ground, it flows down and quickly builds up.

take a bathtub with 2-3 inches of water. and then tip it over. that's what happens. How can a couple inches of rainfall fill dry riverbeds and cause flooding?
that 2-3inches of water is not the totality of the height of the rainwater. it is just the measurement collected from the rain gauge, and a "real-life" scale is used to measure the height of the rainwater, and what are its effects to a city or a place.
Dry riverbeds usually have a large basin above them from where the water will come from when it does rain and by the time all of the water (from a large area) reaches the dry riverbed where you are it will likely result in quickly rising water at great speed.

  • Does anybody live in Arizona or Denver, Colorado wats it like?

Me and my honey are thinking of packing up and moving at the beginning of the year, we kinda like these spots , can you tell me anything, Whats the weather like year round? how are the people? Are interracial couples accepted? Anything!!!please:)Does anybody live in Arizona or Denver, Colorado wats it like?
I'm currently studying in Denver, moved there from Manchester, United Kingdom.

The State itself is beautiful with the mountains and there is so much to do here all year round, from: hiking, mounting biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, caving, rafting, canoing, fishing, hunting, golfing and there are plenty of ski resorts such as Aspen, Winterpark, Loveland and Breckenridge.

If you love the outdoors you will love Colorado.

Not only that but you have the hot springs, national parks, amusements parks, zoos and museums. There are also plenty of historical and heritage sights to visit.

Just think of coming home from work or school and within 30-45 minutes you could be in the Mountains.

The weather is also really great, here you get all four-seasons, warm summers and although it can become quite cold during the winter months, this is usually very mild. Another plus point is that there is practically no humidity, which is a bonus when you are out and about enjoying all of those outdoor activities.

The public transport system in the Denver-Aurora and Boulder Metropolitan area is more than adequate compared to those of a lot States, with plenty of buses and 6 light rail lines, which are a God-send if you don't drive.

The people, from my own personal experience I have found to be very welcoming, polite and friendly all round. One example of this is in my local bar, never have I found a place where British, American, Irish, Russian and Australians of all colors, gender and race have sat down together and had a great times. We now meet up a few times a week for drinks and live very close together downtown.

Interracial couples are accepted, there will only be the narrowed minded ones who will look down on this, but you get those kind of people wherever you go, but they are the vast minority.

Colorado as actually one of the highest proportions of Hispanic residents of any U.S. state, Denver and some other areas have significant Mexican populations, while southern Colorado has a large number of Hispanos.

I have also visited Arizona on a few occasions, namely Phoenix, Chandler, Tempe and Paradise Valley and while they are great places in their own right, I just didn't get the same feeling I got when I came to Colorado. The weather didn't appeal me, temperatures are often in the high 90's and during the summer months you are lucky if it comes below 100. It is also very dry. I also don't like that Arizona is a very vehicle-driven state, public transport is rather poor and nothing is in walking distance, although a light rail system is being built for late next year.

Saying all that, I still like Arizona and I do still visit but I would never move there, I prefer Colorado by a country mile!

    Who likes Arizona (the state)?

I really love Arizona (the state)

Im from Minnesota and really enjoy the warm weather during the winter months and love the desert and mountains.

Just wondering who else likes the state and why :)Who likes Arizona (the state)?
I'm from Chicago and have lived here almost 15 years. Looks like you wrote my script as to why I moved here!! Add 341 days of sunshine on average each year and the ability to hike, camp, swim, party, water ski and snow ski on the same day in the Spring... just adds to the mystic of our state...

And, yes, you do get use to the summer heat, but you can also jump in a car and head up North and watch the Temp's drop into the 70's during the day in a less then 90 minute ride if you really need to cool off.....-)

    Enjoy our Summer!!!!
I thought I liked it too. Until I moved here, now I freakin hate it. The landscaping sucks it's just tan blah gravel. No luscious green grass to roll around it, no pretty trees or flowers (unless the state planted them next to the highway). It's way too hot in the summer- I had to turn my air conditioner on in March that's just ridiculous. The people are awful- so much crime. There is absolutely no culture or diversity- the only culture here is Mexican. Mexican style architecture, Mexican food, hell half the radio stations and store signs are in Spanish! This is America people!Who likes Arizona (the state)?
i like it here cuz its big and there is also so much going on so your never bored. I have the hot weather tho im from montana so i love the cold. i dont like that there is so much crime and stuff and that border patrol is everywhere it makes you feel unsafe!
It's OK! but coming from California, it's a step down!

Summers really suck!Who likes Arizona (the state)?
I moved here from Chicago 5 years ago..i LOVE it

What part of america is the most sunniest and hot in the whole of america?

I have been to florida a few days ago and it was amazing weather there! but atm i have texas, arizona and florida on my mind atm so which is the hottest? What part of america is the most sunniest and hot in the whole of america?
You'd be hard pressed to pick the one sunniest and hottest at the state level.

First, the two variables are mutually exclusive - it can be hotter and cloudy or sunny and colder.

Second, you'd need to define how to measure "hottest". Would you consider it hottest if it had the highest recorded temperature on a single day, or are you looking at annual averages? For example, in Texas you might get summer temps at 115F and winter temps of 20F. In Hawaii it's about 80F all year.

Third, the micro-geography of the states will vary. If you said Arizona, that conclusion wouldn't apply in the mountainous part of the state. What part of america is the most sunniest and hot in the whole of america?
    Death valley

    Should I live in Arizona?

I am joining my sister in Scottsdale, Arizona, and I heard it is pretty hot up there.

How hot is it there in the summer? Winter?

I am asking this, because I get very itchy (VERY) when I have hot weather. I start getting red, I itch all over my body and head , yada yada. What should I do?

Conclusion: I have very sensitive skin that is not compatible with hot weather, should I move in with my sister at Scottsdale, Arizona? Please tell me the average temperatures in the summer and winter.Should I live in Arizona?
The average high in the summer is over 102 degrees. If you have a skin condition then you shouldn't live here. In the winter it is in the 50's or 60's. By the way thanks for the thumbs down on an honest answer.
M-k... Well this is the "horses mouth" you're hearing it from- So listen up; The Summers here in Scottsdale are LONG and BROILING... From about May 15th to October 1st in a NORMAL year it's over a 100 degrees almost every day. A "Hot Day" in the Summer here- is over 110 (we had 32 of those- last year). And a VERY Hot Day- is anything over 115 (we had 2 or 3 of those last year- too). Summer nights are in the 80s %26amp; 90s (%26amp; THAT's when most people come out- %26amp; do their shopping). The Winters ARE Beautifull Here- with daytime temps from 55 to 70 , and 35 to 45 degrees at night. AND, if we're REALLY lucky, it'll rain once or twice a month- all year (Rain is a BIG DEAL Here. Anyone who complains about Rain - is Arrested, Charged, %26amp; Sentenced- to Three weeks on a Highway Asphalt Crew- in JULY!!! Most of the perpetrators- don't "make it"- to August). So it's YOUR Skin... And if you think it's Red NOW...... :0 !Should I live in Arizona?
phoenix and suburban cities are wonderful areas and places to visit or live in. the people are friendly. there is lots to do especially if you like to shop and go out to eat. the scenery is beautiful.

you shouldn't live there though because it even feels like summer time to us northerners during the winter months.

i know because i jsut visited my aunt and uncle in chandler that have lived there for 12 years year round and the weather is so nice it sucked having to go back to the cold snowy weather of maine.

fortunately though when i graduate high school in june i'm moving in with them xD

so yeah you shouldn't move there if your skin is sensative to heat but you could try ggetting medication for your skin and if that works than yes deff move to arizona! xD
Anywhere from 105 to 115 in the summer during the daytime. During the winter it is mild, usually the high temperature is in the 60's or 70's. The drivers are terrible here and the education system is even worse.

The sun is relentlessly beating down during the summertime and the heat is oppressive. People do not even spend time outside during the summer here.Should I live in Arizona?
its so hot here, around 110-120 and im not exageratting but the winter is nice, lately its been upper 70s and a couple 80s. I just try to do my shopping at night and the summer just seems to go on and on and winter is over in a flash. joeseph explained it all very well!!!
People are really underestimating. The temperatures taken (those forecasted and posted) are taken it the shade at sky harbor aiport; thus, in the sun it will be about 10 - 15 degrees hotter always. My mom always kept a thermometer in the sun in our backyard to compare the differences when I was growing up. It is not uncommon for the temp to be as high as 120 and I've seen it as high as 130, these numbers are just not commonly reported. Chances are you will adjust to the heat, but if it makes you ill, I would not recommend a move out there.
Its so HOT in Arizona. During the summer it can average from 105 - 115. If you can not handle the heat DO NOT MOVE HERE.
If you move here you'll be a lobster from May to September.

Where are there no natural disasters?

The midwest can have tornadoes, the Gulf of Mexico area can have hurricanes, California can have earthquakes, etc... Either in the US or in the World, where are there no natural disasters? This can include extreme temperatures that causes deaths as well... Does such a place exist where nobody dies due to the weather? I live in Arizona and it's pretty disaster-free, but we can have extreme heat and flash floods and people can die in small numbers due to those.Where are there no natural disasters?
I live in Cedar City, Utah, which is in southern Utah, and it's pretty mild here as far as weather and disasters. We did just get 12 inches of snow, but I'd hardly call that a disaster. We rarely get storms of any kind here though, no threat from tsunamis as the ocean is 6 hours away, and all the volcanoes around here are extinct. The only thing we have to worry about is a fairly dormant fault line that goes through the middle of town that could come to life, produce a huge quake, and KILL US ALL!!! I don't see that happening any time soon though.

The guy above me is right though, no one is safe from a meteor hit, even though the odds of that happening are extremely unlikely!
Phoenix probably comes pretty close to be the safest place to live in the USA from natural disasters. The central states of the USA are relatively free from tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis. However, if extreme heat and cold are risk factors, that leaves a temperate zone in the central states, and Phoenix is just south of it. Perhaps Sedona, the famed Vortex Country just north of Phoenix, is the ideal place to live? Taos in New Mexico, maybe? Is that why people living in those places are so loopy?Where are there no natural disasters?
    The UK isnt bad, apart from the tornado that ripped through part of London last week;
When I had studied geology, the teacher said just because an area may never had experienced a natural disaster, it does not mean it will never happen.Where are there no natural disasters?
There is no such place. Every part of the world is susceptible to bad weather.
Even if you found some place that is supposedly safe from all the aforementioned risks, a meteorite could strike there. There is no place on earth where a meteorite cannot land. That would also be a natural disaster, so there is therefore no place on earth 100% safe from natural disasters. (Lightning and earthquakes can strike pretty much anywhere, too.)

  • Im from Arizona and going to Chicago in two weeks, what should I ware/bring?

how do you dress for the cold weather in chicago. im from AZIm from Arizona and going to Chicago in two weeks, what should I ware/bring?
Going from Gods country Arizona to Chicago? I feel sorry for you. I've lived in both places. The worst part of Arizona beats the best place in Chicago or Illinois for that matter
Bring pants/jeans, some t-shirts or just light type shirts for either wearing by themselves or layering. Sweaters or sweatshirts, a heavier coat, a couple pairs of shoes, make sure one is fairly warm so if it's cold, you're feet don't freeze. Gloves might be a good idea and so may a scarf.Im from Arizona and going to Chicago in two weeks, what should I ware/bring?
Bring a rain coat or an umbrella (actually it's probably better to just buy an umbrella when you get there)

    Bring a heavy coat

Bring a light jacket or a hoodie

    Wear layers

The weather changes from day to day around this time. It won't be non-stop cold until December.
You will have to dress warm. In November it's usually mid to low 40's and cooler by the lake. It depends where you go really, but most places away from Lake Michigan will be mid 40's. It's start getting to freezing temperatures soon as well so dress appropriately.Im from Arizona and going to Chicago in two weeks, what should I ware/bring?
Pretend you're going to Flagstaff, AZ

Expect weather in the high 40sF. I would be prepared for snow/sleet.

Wear layers. A sweater and wool socks will be warm. Fleece and a rainproof windbreaker will be smart.

Like most cities, your life experiences and the quality of your life will match your mom/dad's ability to afford a nice neighborhood. If you can live in the Cactus Corridor and attend Chaparral High School you will love it. The school is good, kids smart and achievement oriented. If you have to live in a poor neighborhood, life becomes less pleasant.

Overall, Phoenix is a great place to live.Is Phoenix, Arizona a good place to live for a family?
The simple answer is NO! Arizona is full of third world people from south of the border illegally! Every day on the local news is like a new Stephen King movie. They commit the most heinous crimes and are always wiping out American families while their driving drunk. They're murderers, rapists and thieves!!! I wish I didn't live here!
