i want to move to arizona. my parents do as well. i might move there before them to start school. will lionhead bunnies survive that hot weather out there though? i want to get one so yeah. thanksWill lionhead bunnies survive hot weather?
Yes, but they need shelter from direct sun in the summer and even frozen bottles of water to lie next to in extreme heat. Rabbits of any breed are prone to heat stroke, so care must be taken to be sure they can stay cool enough in extreme weather. I have a great site on lionheads with lots of detailed care info and lots of pics. http://www.circuslionsrabbitry.comWill lionhead bunnies survive hot weather?
Since Lion Heads are a thick haired bunny and (supposedly) come from colder regions of Europe, I would imagine Arizona is not an ideal location. Maybe if you plan to keep it indoors, just remember not to put the poor thing under an air conditioning vent, you'll end up with a sick rabbit all the time. Will lionhead bunnies survive hot weather?
Any rabbit can have a heat stroke above 80F.
Have you thought about a house rabbit? They can be litterbox trained and make excellent house pets.
There are quite a few rescues in AZ with already spayed/neutered and litter box trained rabbits.
