How do I keep my hair straight all day long?

I have a Conair flat iron and it was about $30. I use it about every day and usually after a few hours it will curve and "flip" at the ends and it never stays straight all day long like I want it to. It usually curves and "flips" after about 2 or 3 hours, especially in humid or hot weather. Does it flip because of the humidity (I live in Arizona) and heat from sweating, or is it just the possibility of my flat iron not being of a high-quality.

I thought about saving up about 50 bucks to buy a really good flat-iron at Sally's or something (my current flat iron is from Wal-Mart), and I don't want to waste my money, so do you think it'll work better? Is there any straightening gel or mousse or anything that will keep my hair straight for AT LEAST 6 hours and won't fry my hair? Please help; I need a good product. How do I keep my hair straight all day long?
I THINK ITS BECUZ OF THE HUMIDITY

AND I BOUGHT A FLAT IRON AT SALLY'S IT WAS $70 AND IT WORKS REALLY GOOD :]
God same happens to me. Try a better straightener or put soem hairspray on the ends only. How do I keep my hair straight all day long?
my hair does the same thing..its usually from humidity and hot weather..i have a remington and it still does that to me too and i have yet to find something that works...try garnier anti-humidity cream..don't get the hairspray cause it just makes your hair feel weird..get like the milky cream stuff
It could be all sorts of things. It could be your flat iron.. the flat iron I use is great.. it is Paul Mitchell Pro Smoothing Ceramic Iron. It has many heat settings.. and in the manual it will tell you what heat setting you should have it on for your specific hair type.

But it very well could be the humiduty, considering you live in Arizona. So the first thing I would try is using a anti-frizz serum. But the product I use is Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. It smooths and protects the hair, and it reduces blow-dry time, and it is also a heat protectant so your hair will always look healthy, and not fried from always straightening.

My sister is a cosmetologist so feel free to e-mail anytime with questions. Hope I helped a little... good luck. How do I keep my hair straight all day long?
I have a chi that cost be about $200 when it first came out, and if it's humid my hair still curls, but not even a blow out from a stylist can survive a really humid day. I've started using kpak straightening balm when i do and it keeps my super curly hair pretty straight even if it is kinda humid. I'd still invest in a better straightener because they don't fry your hair as much and usually work better in the long run
