What to wear in the snow and really cold weather? Never been in either!!?

Hi going to Taos, New Mexico skiing and staying in a cabin. Have NO clue what to wear to keep warm and still be fashionable. I know we'll pretty much be in the country the whole time and it will definitely snow. I'm from Arizona, and we don't have snow in Phoenix. I'm 25, 5'7, 130 girl, and want to look cute but be WARM!What to wear in the snow and really cold weather? Never been in either!!?
Dress in layers. I love fleece. I live in upstate NY and we get snow and cold weather all of the time. I would get a nice pair of snow pants and a cozy coat. Also look into some socks that are made especially for skiing. They will keep your toes toasty and dry. I'm not sure what your hair is like, but if it is long I would pull it back and get a stylish headband that covers your ears. There are some really cute hats out there too. long underware, hats, gloves, glove liners, boots, wool socks, ployester, anything that wikks (does not take in water). Anything that is WWW (warm when wet) is good. Sweaters, sweat pants, and winter jackets should work too

I come from Vermont and we get lots of snow... and like you i want to look like a girl and still be warm... The key is layers... Wear a couple of long sleeve shirts under a comfy sweater, and a warm coat... Wear leggings under your pants (it helps the butt effect too) Thick socks, and warm boots and you should be good to go.. Happy Skiing... oh yeah and hot chocolate
Layers will work the best and still alow you to move.
k you need WARM SOCKS! and lots of them, next you need some gloves and a hat, Target has some really cute stuff (look online if not at a store near you), next some sweaters (can buy some if you want, online) and a jacket.......the best is Columbia (look at Columbia.com) and some boots, look around uggs are good to keep feet warm, but take water in to easy, but have fun! :)
Layers for sure, but be sure you can still move comfortably. Since you live in a warmer climate, you don't want to go out a buy a whole bunch of stuff you won't be able to wear again. But you should buy a whole outer layer of stuff to wear on the slopes. It should be water-proof, allow your skin to breathe [rather than just sweat], and not be too bulky. Look for jacket and gloves made of Thinsulate.

Do go ahead and get a nice pair of ski gloves.They will keep your hands warm but not sweaty and you will use these again, even in Arizona [and they last forever.]

Most towns near ski resorts have outlet stores for ski wear. It won't be at the resort itself, but in the nearby town. I have skied in Colorado and in North Carolina and found great buys on ski wear nearby in both locales. The only things I bought and never used again were snow boots and a ski suit. But they were on clearance so it didn't hurt so much.
You will need two or three hats (in case any of them get wet)

One or two scarves or those neck warmer things that go past your chin.

Layers, get some long under wear (not as bad as it sounds) and a sweater, then either a very poofy warm vest or jacket.

Get ski pants or snowboard pants for on the bottom.

And for socks, try to get wool socks, SmartWools are the best.

REI if you haven't been there before has everything you would need for cold weather- including all the clothes mentioned above as well as little pocket warmer things and very nice water proof gloves and nice colors of ski helmets.

You will need a warm coat with a hood (you should be able to find a really adorable one at your size). Its best to dress in layers, so thermal underwear (no its not cute, lol, but no one sees it), socks, lined boots (the unlined ones are freezing), a cool headwrap, there are many kinds including just bands to cover your ears. You will also need sunblock (yes, just because its cold does not mean you will not burn) and GOOD sunglasses as well as ski goggles. At those altitudes remember, you are closer to the sun, plus there is the glare off the snow. You should have a ball getting ready for your trip!!! Oh and geeze, lol, don't forget gloves!
