How is Arizona for college students?

Can you tell me about it?

Weather?

Best place to live for a college student?

Best engineering schools?

Thank you so much in advance! How is Arizona for college students?
There are three universities in Arizona, so Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff are your choices. ASU and UA have essentially equivalent engineering programs, but I'm (biased) partial to UA's.

The weather is very comfortable from mid-October to mid-April. The rest of the time, it gets very hot, well over 40C/105F. Late June and July is usually the worst as that's when it's very hot but the summer rains ("monsoons") have not yet started.

Tucson is slightly cooler in the summers and gets more of the summer rains. How is Arizona for college students?
I'm a Freshman in High School, but I've lived in AZ all my life, so I think I can help you out, as all of my siblings are in college.

It's a very diverse place. You can be in a huge city (Phoenix), or drive an hour or two and be completely secluded in a small town. If you drive 2 hours to Flagstaff, you will probably see snow in the Winter time. There are many things to do, especially for college kids. Many big music venues, where the biggest singers and performers come. There are also a lot of museums, and neighborhood stores and restaurants around.

Arizona is very hot for people who haven't been here for an extended period of time before. However, you really do get used to the heat once you are here.

Tempe would most likely be the best place for a college student, as ASU is located there. Tempe is basically like a suburb of Phoenix, right by downtown. Although because Tempe is such a college student filled place, it has become known for wild parties.

Again, ASU has pretty much everything you could want to major in.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy AZ if you come here! How is Arizona for college students?
