Is it better to run in hot weather?

Okay, So I live in arizona, and it gets pretty hot here in the day, and im trying to loose weight by running, and what is better to run in, early morning 85 - 90 or midday 108 - 115? im very overweight, that might be needed info.Is it better to run in hot weather?
Run in the morning, no questions asked! You'd be very likely to overheat in no time with those afternoon temperatures.



With that said, drink lots of fluid before, during, and after your run. 85 - 90 is still very hot weather to be running in. You will dehydrate very quickly, and that is not good for you whatsoever. You can very easily do more damage than good to yourself.

Ideally, if you could do workouts indoors with temperatures that are in the 70s, that would be a lot better for you. But if you insist on running outside, just remember to listen to your body. Pushing your body past it's "comfort zone" for pain in a workout is one thing, but if you feel like you're just getting too warm, SLOW DOWN, because your bod can only expell so much excess heat at once. You can do a ton of permanent damage to yourself if you don't let yourself cool back down.
I'm no to sure if its safe to be running in Arizona weather (i live here to) bu in phoenix i can barley walk to one place to another with out almost passing out i cant imagine running in this weatherIs it better to run in hot weather?
Generally it is, because running in cold whether is bad for you, but running in whether thats too hot can also be bad.

Running in 110 degree weather is very dangerous, moreso if you're overweight. You run the risk of getting heat stroke, and trust me, you do NOT want that. Run early in the morning with some light clothing or take it to the gym.
I recommend running in the morning for two reasons

1) If you tried running in 115 degree heat you could die or you would have to drink a lot of water just to stay hydrated.

2) If you run first thing in the morning before you eat anything, when your burning calories you are burning stored fat, becuase your running on an empty stomach.
It is safer for you to run in the morning when it's cooler....to run in the blazing heat not only will dehydrate you but you will be more succeptible to heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Whatever time of day you choose, please make sure you are drinking plenty of water...and be careful in the heat.
