What should I know about Arizona?

I'm thinking of moving to Arizona to study in a University. I currently live in North Carolina.

How is the weather over there during winter? I've been to Arizona during to summer to visit my cousins and it gets really hot but its not as humid as North Carolina.

Is it expensive to live there (housing)

Are the people friendly?

Anything that you think I should know about Arizona please tell me :) Thank you! What should I know about Arizona?
You asked about our winter weather which is very desirable when compared to the ice and snow of the east coast. Here are some monthly averages that might interest you

"Snowbirds" flock to Phoenix to enjoy our beautiful winter weather.

Housing right now is a buyers market. Find a good realtor to help you find a home or an apt (whatever you are in the market for) and double check the neighborhood with the non emergency police number.

The people are very friendly. We are essentially a "melting pot" of people from all over the country and all the ones I've met and know are very friendly.
Arizona weather during the winter is usually amazing. It never gets too cold, and we never have to wear heavy jackets. Usually the highs stay around the 60s. Summer weather is obviously really hot, but its extremely dry (lots of forest fires).

Real estate is not that expensive here because theres lots of land. Usually land is divided into individual houses instead of crowded into a whole bunch of apartments, even in the areas closer to downtown.

The people here are okay. It depends on which area you’re living in Arizona. In some places the people can be unfriendly and close-minded, but in other areas they’re really friendly. What should I know about Arizona?
Hi there!

In Arizona, the job market and overall economy is bad. On the upside, there are many cheap, nice houses, if you can afford to buy. As far as apartments go, you can find a wide variety, in any price range. In this city, you get what you pay for. If you get a cheap apartment you will most likely be living in the ghetto. It's a pretty affordable city to live in, as long as you have a job (which are hard to come by). Yes, the summers are extremely hot, and we have no humidity. During the winters the average high is the high 60s or 70s. So a lot of old people come down here from northern AZ to spend their winters. People are generally friendly! There are a lot of illegal mexicans here, so if that bothers you, don't move here because they are everywhere. The universities here are pretty decent, and there are several, including nationally ranked community colleges. As far as things to do, there isn't much. We have the grand canyon, and snowboarding/skiing up north, but it's not very touristy. Good luck making your decision, but if I were you I would look somewhere else. I'm trying to move, can you tell? :)
One winter I went to Phoenix in January and I thought it was absolutely perfect weather...(Im from Minnesota so anything over 20 in Jan. is warm... anyways I had a blast hiking up Squaw Peak and exploring the outdoors! I thought the people were nice and there was alot to do! I would love to live there in the winter!! I'm not sure about the summers but my friend lives there and he said he would rather deal with the hot season than the torture of living in Minnesota and it's horrible weather!!!What should I know about Arizona?
The low lands that are a round Phoenix, are very hot and very dry dureing the summer and somewhat mild but dry the rest of the year.
