Well, Sedona is one of the most beautiful places in AZ to hike. Check out Slide Rock! But if you're looking for hot weather Sedona is pretty chilly this time of year.
Also, even if you don't feel touristy, check out Tempe! It's a college town with a lot of shopping and good food. Mill Ave has some of the best food and shopping, including My Big Fat Greek Restaurant (some of the best Greek food I've ever tasted with fantastic service).
You don't want to miss quality Mexican food, so check out Garcia's or Macayo's--(chains, so you can just google them.) If you're looking for something more authentic, you can try Restaurant Mexico, (also on Mill Ave.)

I live all the way across the USA, but I've found great hiking and other outdoor stuff in several places in AZ. Tucson is the best large city, because it's not a huge as Phoenix. Both cities offer plenty of great outdoor activities. The Sedona area, a smaller town of course, has loads of stuff to do as well. And, off the beaten path, you'll find great places out in the countryside that aren't crowded and have lots of great scenery. If you can only make one trip to AZ, combine a visit to Phoenix and Tucson and have a blast. You'll want to return to AZ and see the northern part next time.Which city is the best to visit in Arizona?
