What's the weather like in Vegas in December?

Is it stupid to drive from San Antonio, Texas to Vegas in December? I know nothing about driving in the snow. How often does it snow there? How about driving through New Mexico and Arizona. Anybody know a safe route? What's the weather like in Vegas in December?
ummm....LV is desert land so they don't really snow, they might have rain but most likely not snow. Weather in Dec. is not too bad; it is cooler dry air probably around 50-60degrees Farenheit and you usually need a coat if you are planning to walk outdoors. It isn't stupid to drive to Vegas, it might even be fun depending on who you have in the car!!! ROADTRIPS are awesome!
Okay, first of all, Vegas is in the middle of a desert. I highly doubt it will snow there. Secondly, pretty much the same for most of Arizona and New Mexico. What's the weather like in Vegas in December?
I live in Mesquite, NV, which is about 90 miles from Vegas. Vegas gets a little colder than it does here in the winter, and miraculously this past winter, it snowed! Yeah, snow in a desert... weird. Anyways... I have lived here nearly 10 years and it was the first time since I have been here that it snowed enough really to stick on the ground, so driving in the snow shouldn't be much of a problem.
It does snow in NM/AZ, mostly in the northern parts and up in the mountains. It has snowed in Vegas twice this year! However, that's rare, and it melted within a day! Main routes through that area are the I-40 and the I-10. Both of these are usually passable in the winter, but the 40 goes through more mountains, so there can be some hang-ups there. It usually stays in the 40-50 range in the winter during the day and MUCH colder (below freezing) at night (as is typical of deserts). Anytime of year is great in Vegas! What's the weather like in Vegas in December?
Don't worry about snow in Vegas. On the rare occasion that we get it, it never builds up, and it's basically like driving in the rain.

AZ gets a little snow, but again, nothing major except in the northern part of the state, which you wouldn't be driving through.

Albuquerque gets snow, and sometimes it's bad. Bring snow chains with you for that leg of the drive.

I don't know why you would drive though. Southwest has non stop flights between San Antonio and Vegas once a day.
Normally the weather is great (best time to go) however, lots of bad reports on I-40 and I-10 (rip offs and scams and danger). When the weather is bad you must stop ubtil snow is over. It is a boring drive unless you choose a US Hwy via

the Colorado route ....Mimi
